About Tauranga Samba

Who are we?

Tauranga Samba has been operating since Sept 2007. We've come a long way since then and have an enthusistic bunch of core members who play regularly at gigs and come to our weekly workshops.

The main aim of the group is to provide regular FREE percussion workshops for anyone who cares to attend, regardless of their musical knowledge or experience.

New members are always welcome and we will teach you everything you need to know! Looking for something new and challenging in your life?..we could be it! Come along one Saturday and try it out.

What is Brazilian style percussion?

Do I need any musical experience?

None required! A typical Brazilian style percussion group may have members ranging from no musical experience at all to accomplished musicians. Its easy to learn and you will be taught everything you need to know.
